Situated in an unspoilt valley, the small village of Hemsedal is an excellent base for a Norwegian skiing experience. The season is long, making it a good choice of destination all winter. There is a surprisingly large variety of slopes packed into a relatively small area, and the fast chair lifts allows for plenty of runs in one day! For added variety there is a snowboard park and half pipe. Most intermediates will enjoy the good variety of blues, reds and easy blacks. Of course there is also plenty of cross-country skiing, both at resort level and at altitude, plus there is a cross-country centre a few miles down the valley! |
