Set in the province of Salzburger, Mittersill is a small town within 12 minutes of the Kitzbühel Ski Area!
The town is relatively undiscovered and the panorama gondola is a great way to connect into the Kitzbuhel ski area without the queues.
There is some really great restaurants,a number of bars and a nightclub.

Since December 2005 the Panorama Lift connects the region of Hollersbach–Mittersill–Stuhlfelden to the world-famous Kitzbühel Ski Area.
For the Pinzgau-region in the country of Salzburg this connection was a huge and important step. The base station of the cable-railway (with 8-pers. cable cars) is located in Hollersbach in the Upper-Pinzgau – here you‘ll find a car park for 600 cars and buses, a ski rental service, a ski depository, and shops. Ascending to the mid station/Breitmoos takes 6 minutes. There you‘ll also find a ski rental service, a car park and cross-country trails. Within another 6 minutes you can reach the top station on the Resterkogel at a sea-level of 1,894 m. From there you‘ll start directly into the world-famous Kitzbühel Ski Area

Our Opinion
This world renowned ski resort is spread over a wide area and offers largely intermediate skiing. It is well known for its upmarket style and international flair. Beginners will enjoy the wide, open runs on the Kitzbühlerhorn. Advanced skiers can try the Hahnenkamm race course, but only after the racing has finished at the end of January!

World Snowboard Guide
WSG rates Kitzbühel as an excellent carvers resort with some very attractive freeriding to be had on nice steeps. It is still a cool place to ride and when a good level of snow has dumped no rider should ever get bored. Beginners are particular well catered for, with the chance to ride some long, easy runs.
